Game Recap

Grand Haven tied West Ottawa 1-1 on Thursday night in a tough OK Red showdown. West Ottawa scored first when they converted off a corner kick ball that bounced around before being sent past keeper Jake Thayer. Grand Haven evened things up with a Conner Lund goal off a Joe Walsh assist. The game was 1-1 at half. The second half proved to be a scoreless draw ending the game 1-1.

Quotes from Coach Dean

“I thought we were building some momentum and the goal off the corner kick certainly switched some of that. Our guys did a good job staying focused and getting the equalizer. Joe made a nice pass from the left side to Conner who made nice move before hitting his shot.”

“The second half I really felt we carried more of the play but just couldn’t find the back of the net. Lots of credit to West Ottawa. They played tough. Their number 7 and 21 played really well and made them dangerous for a counter attack.”
