Holman’s scoring swell blows Bucs past the Sailors

GRAND HAVEN TRIBUNE — Grand Haven boys basketball opened up their season at home against Muskegon Mona Shores Friday night, defeating the Sailors, 69-56.

The Bucs played a physical, energetic game forcing turnovers and pushing transition ball to stifle a quality Mona Shores team.

“It’s always nice to start 1-0,” coach Greg Immink said after the game. “It was our first game here tonight, that comes with some challenges first game jitters, that type of thing. We came out of the gate in the first quarter and put up 27. Overall very pleased with the game and our effort.”

From the outset the Bucs controlled the tempo of the game, forcing the Sailors to settle for tough shots, which they struggled to hit. They held Mona to just two field goals in…..
